Background
Despite the current bearish market, games remain a significant player in various blockchain applications. In Q1 2023, daily active users of blockchain games totaled 800,000, accounting for 43% of the total daily active wallets on the blockchain. Infrastructure and metaverse/GameFi are still relatively high in financing, and from the current transaction volume, Axie Infinity's daily transaction volume remains in the millions of dollars, indicating a strong rebound in the GameFi field.
In 2021, the highlight of the blockchain gaming industry was Axie Infinity's monthly revenue, which exceeded 334 million USD, surpassing the revenue of the popular game "King of Glory" at 231 million USD. The game's highest daily revenue was a staggering 17.5 million USD, with over 1.5 million daily active users and a total revenue of 300 million USD in 30 days.
However, there are still several issues that need to be addressed in the GameFi field, such as the island effect, ecological fragmentation, poor liquidity of game assets, and difficulty in long-term operation, with the majority unable to last for more than three months. Even the "long-lived" Axie is now facing a liquidity crisis, with a single and barren GameFi application ecology, missing basic components, and limited to X to Eran.
